Time for more paranoia. Driving back on the m40, a police car in one of those lookout pointson the embankment. Me? I was doing about 75. Who knows.
I am trying not to let it ruin my evening. I'm doing okish so far, and i hope that by writing about it, this will help.

This sort of thing is my speciality...
I can assure you that they won't have given you a second glance, less than 80mph on a Motorway won't attract any attention at all (nor any tickets). A general rule for cameras is 10% + 2mph (in a 70mph limit the camera would be set at 79mph minimum). Roadside traffic cars are looking out for bad driving and/or excessive speed, they are likely to be using VASCAR (where they measure your progress between two fixed points, using onboard Video) or a laser device like an LTI20.20 (two laser beam pulses bounce off your car, difference in return time of each gives a speed).
In both these cases they won't be targetting every vehicle (actually, the Association of Chief Police Officers guideines specifficaly state that they should not) so they will target those who deserve is (and that isn't you!)
Another point is that if they had been interested in you they would have stopped you there and then.
Sorry for the ramble!
